Please see below for some helpful info on utilizing the house:

How do I access the home?

Prior to your arrival, you will be sent a four-digit access code for the front door. To unlock, press the button on the bottom left of the keypad, then input your code. The door will auto-lock after 5 minutes.

How do I change the temperature?

Each floor has its own thermostat to control the temperature. To adjust the temperature, tap the 2nd from the left icon on the top row. Select the desired temperature and whether you want heating or cooling. Note: There are sensors on doors and a few spots throughout the house. If sliding doors are open on a particular floor, the air will cut off until they are closed.

Do you have any cameras in the house?

No. For security purposes, there are two cameras on the outside of the property, one by the front door and one above the garage.

What’s the WiFi?

The wifi network is ‘Let’s Boogie’ and the password is ‘c0astalretreat’.

How do I stream on the TVs?

Each TV in the house has integrated streaming apps. Please select the app you are trying to stream (Netflix, Hulu, etc) and login using your credentials. Don’t forget to log out before you depart!

How do I use the Elevator?

The Elevator can be somewhat touchy, please be patient with it! The elevator has an accordian door on the inside, and each floor has a regular door to open the elevator shaft. Both doors must be closed completely for the elevator to run – if the magnet on the accordian door is not fully connected to the outer magnet, it will not run. If the elevator is not on that floor, the door to enter the elevator shaft will not open. Lately, we’ve been having an issue with the elevator call buttons not lighting up which makes it hard to know which floor the elevator is on and whether it is coming or not. Remember: the door will not open if the elevator is not on that floor, so worst case scenario: you can go to each floor, try to open the door, you’ll find the elevator. We are working on getting this small issue fixed but the elevator is fully functional once you find it – we recommend using it primarily as a dumbwaiter to transport your bags or groceries.

How do I open these dang sliding doors?

The sliding doors have a lower lock (the black thing!) that you can hit with your foot, the button facing outward does the unlock. The button facing top down is the lock. There should be a little sign to show you.

What’s the deal with the driveway/neighbor?

Please note that this is a townhouse style home with a shared driveway split down the middle. Our next door neighbors are full time residents in Carolina Beach, please don’t take over their driveway 🙂 similarly, half of the backyard is theirs as well. Please be respectful!

Can I park in the garage?

Yes, you can but we need to get a garage door opener for guests. So, you’ll need to open/close the garage by using the button inside the garage.

Where do I rinse off when I get back from the beach?

The Spartanburg beach access unfortunately does not have showers/foot showers. When you get back from the beach, please use the hose just to the right of the front door or use the outdoor shower on the back deck so you don’t track sand into the house. Sand getting in the plumbing is a major problem, please try not to bring a lot of sand into the indoor showers or laundry. PS – turning the hose to the left is off!

Is the beach dog friendly?

Carolina Beach is dog friendly before 9 AM and after 5 PM during peak summer months.
